The Exhibition “Images of Women in Construction” at the Museum of Women’s Culture Regional-International, Fürth, Germany

May 26, 2024

“Images of Women in Construction” has invited female visual artists whose works unsettle, irritate, and pose probing questions – not without friction and by no means “dry”. They arouse emotions, desires, fascinate, impress, but also shock. The essential equality of all genders is negotiated. Ruptures, distortions, and conflicts over the power of definition and potential are explored.
How are images of women constructed and how can they be deconstructed? How do we deal with the current issues of gender sensitivity? – And last but not least, how can we deal with “our” cultural construction site – Museum Frauenkultur – Regional International? The exhibition offers a platform and a forum for these and other questions.
