International Women’s Day at the Museo de la Mujer in Mexico City

Facing the forgetfulness. Claiming social struggles and achievements of feminism

On March 5th, the Museo de la Mujer in Mexico City will inaugurate the temporary exhibition “Facing the forgetfulness. Claiming social struggles and achievements of feminism”(Enfrentando la desmemoria. Reivindicando las luchas sociales y los logros del feminismo). It is composed by works of 32 artists from different countries (such as Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, France, Poland and Russia), and it is dedicated to women who have been victims of violence and to those who have fought for the feminism struggles.

Book presentation

Dare to change: to a culture of substantive equality

On the 7th, we will carry out an editorial presentation of the book “ Dare to change: to a culture of substantive equality” (Atrévete a cambiar: a una cultura de igualdad sustantiva), coordinated by Dr. Patricia Galeana, director of our Museum and Honorary President of FEMU. This publication is the result of the joint work between the National Comission of Human Rights (Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos de México) and the Mexican Federation of University Women (FEMU).

Conference

International Women’s Day

On this day we will also have a conference entitled “International Women’s Day” presented by Dr. Ydalia Pérez Fernández Ceja, Dr. Gloria Ramírez and MA. Lourdes Enríquez, FEMU members, the purpose of the conference is to discuss the evolution of women’s rights in Mexico and in the world.
