C’est avec une immense tristesse que nous avons appris la disparition de Mme Sallama Sissoko, Fondatrice du Musée de la Femme de Côte d’Ivoire, ce 9 février 2021. Une femme déterminée et désireuse de mettre en lumière les femmes africaines de son pays et de sublimer leurs réalisations. C’est avec cette profonde gratitude pour Sallama, que tous le Conseil d’administration de l’IAWM, par la voix de sa présidente Mona Holm de Norvége, son équipe de l’Association Internationale des Musées de Femmes (IAWM) et tous les Musées de Femmes ainsi que les initiatives de Musées de Femmes à travers le monde, se joignent à sa famille et amies pour célébrer la vie de Mme Sallama Sissoko et lui présenter ses sincères sympathies.

La section francophone de L’ IAWM par sa vice-présidente Mme Lydie Olga Ntap, originaire du Sénégal et fondatrice du Musée de la Femme | Women’s Museum au Canada, souligne l’engagement de Mme Sallama Sissoko pour la cause de toutes les femmes de Côte d’Ivoire. Mme Sallama Sissoko fut une Grande Dame de son temps, déterminée et inspirante. Puisse-t-elle reposer en paix.

L’IAWM, continuera à accompagner les actions du Musée de la Femme de Côte d’ivoire et présente ses condoléances à la famille de Mme Sallama Sissoko, à l’équipe du Musée de la Femme, ainsi qu’à toutes les femmes de Côte d’Ivoire.

It is with great sadness that we learned of the disappearance of Ms. Sallama Sissoko, Founder of the Women’s Museum of Ivory Coast – Musée de la Femme de Côte d’Ivoire, on February 9, 2021. A determined woman eager to shine the spotlight on African women in her country and to sublimate their achievements.

It is with this deep gratitude for Sallama, that all the IAWM Board of Directors, through the voice of its President Mona Holm of Norway, her team of the International Association of Women’s Museums (IAWM) and all Museums of Women as well as the initiatives of Museums of Women around the world, join her family and friends in celebrating the life of Mrs. Sallama Sissoko and offering her their sincere sympathies.

The francophone section of the IAWM by its vice-president, Mrs. Lydie Olga Ntap, originally from Senegal and founder of the Musée de la Femme | Women’s Museum in Canada, underlines the commitment of Ms. Sallama Sissoko to the cause of all women in Côte d’Ivoire. Mrs. Sallama Sissoko was a Grande Dame of her time, determined and inspiring. May she rest in peace.
