SHHH! Stories about Abortion and Sexuality is a digital exhibition featuring 57 personal stories from 23 countries. Developed within the International Association of Women’s and Gender Museums network, the project creates space for open dialogue on abortion, sexuality, bodily autonomy, and reproductive justice.

Birth Cultures was a Creative Europe project (2019–2022) exploring birth, care, and reproductive experiences from feminist perspectives, connecting museums and cultural actors across Europe.

At the 2025 IAWM Conference in Merano, women’s and gender museums from around the world came together in a collective poster exhibition celebrating feminist histories, dialogue, and social change.

In August 2025, Merano became a global meeting point for feminist thought, as the IAWM Conference brought together voices from across continents to reimagine the role of museums in times of resistance.

The IAWM Conference 2021 in Hittisau brought together a global community in a pioneering hybrid format, creating space for exchange and solidarity at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic deepened existing inequalities. Under the theme “And still we create,” the conference highlighted resilience and feminist perspectives on care, body, and autonomy, demonstrating how cultural work can adapt and persist in times of crisis.
